The Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) is a non-profit organization comprised of about 50,000 members who are dedicated to motorsports, primarily at the grassroots level. Active members enjoy many events offered by the SCCA including road racing, Solo events, and Rally. The SCCA is divided into divisions containing regions. The Old Dominion Region (Number 63) is part of the Southeast Division (SEDiv), which consists of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee and and Virginia. Our Region includes all of the cities in the Hampton Roads area as well as several surounding cities. We primarily host two types of events: Solo and Road Rally. Last Solo Event Decides the Championship!

The eighth and final event of the 2016 Solo Championship seaon was the deciding event for the the overall Championship.. ODR had two drivers, Andy Carr and Steve Fehr, separated by five (5) points heading into the event. If Andy took first place and Steve took second place, Andy would win the overall championship. If Steve took first and Andy took second, both driver would be ties in points and have an equal number of first and second place finishes necessating special tie-breaking rules too complicated to explain here. Each driver received five (5) timed runs. In the end, Andy took first place as Steve coned his fifth and fastest run (see below). Congratulations to both Andy and Steve for any exciting season that went all the way down to the final run before deciding the championship!
