My plan is to have three events this year in the SEDIV Solo Series . One in the North, one in the South and one in the Center of the Division, this event being the series finale and a double points event. New this year to the SCCA is the Triple Crown. The Triple Crown will go to folks who win there Division Championship, the Eastern States Championship (held in Blytheville, AR in May) and the National Championship in Lincoln, NE in September all in the same respective class. Due to the significance of the Triple Crown, the Divisional Championships will only be awarded to classes that have at least three competitors. We will be discussing the Ladies classes at the Area 3 meeting. Since Ladies classes traditionally have fewer competitors, we are considering having a Ladies Pax class and the winner will be awarded with the Southeast Divisional Championship in the class she is paxed in. This year my goal is to have as many events run on concrete as possible with the Northern and Southern Events scheduled before the Eastern State Championships run at the end of May. This will allow everyone in the Division to run on concrete before this Championship event. So far we have a commitment from Old Dominion Region in Norfolk , VA to run an event at the ACU 4 Little Creek Base. They are trying to secure the dates of April 25/26, 2009. We should know whether this date is acceptable within 45 days. We have been communicating with regions in Central and Southern Florida and we are hoping to secure a date in the South the weekend of May 16/17, 2009. Nothing has been determined as yet. The season finale will be held in Northern Florida on a concrete site and we hope to secure a date sometime between late July and early August. Please let me know if you are aware of an available site we can use for a Divisional. I am also looking for a few good men…and women to fill positions on the Divisional Solo Team. If you are interested in sharing your expertise in any of the Chief positions, please let me know. I thank you for your time and I look forward to a great 2009 Southeast Divisional Series.
